The monthly rate depends on the type and size of tank. Every rental is a lease-to-own agreement through our partner Vista Services: free standard installation, old tank removed, repairs covered for the term, and the tank is yours at the end. Please note: if you’re going from an electric or conventional (chimney-vent) tank to a different type, or want the tank relocated, there are additional charges for the extra venting, gas or plumbing work. These are assessed and provided to you in writing before any work is started — no surprises on install day.

One payment, no contract, and over the life of the tank it usually costs less. Manufacturer’s warranty on the tank (typically six years on parts) plus our one-year labour warranty. More makes and models to choose from.
Same tanks, same licensed installers, same phone number when you need us. We’ll tell you which makes more sense for your house, not which makes more for us.
The tank, free standard installation, removal and return of your old tank, and repairs to the equipment for the term of the agreement — parts and labour. Not covered: routine maintenance, plumbing problems unrelated to the tank, and damage from poor water quality (a well-water softener is the fix there).
Our lease-to-own partner Vista Services owns it during the term. You can buy it out at any time by calling Vista at 1-877-318-4782 — the amount is your monthly payment times a multiplier from the published buyout schedule for your term, plus a $49.95 account-closure fee — and once the 12-year term ends the buyout is a fixed nominal $49.95 plus the closure fee and HST.
Standard means like-for-like in the same spot with the existing venting, gas and water connections in good shape. Going from an electric or conventional (chimney-vent) tank to a different type, relocating the tank, running a new gas line, or adding a drain pan or expansion tank carry additional charges. Those are assessed and given to you in writing before any work starts.
No lump sum, no repair bills ever, and it's the simplest way to get hot water back when a tank dies on a day you didn't budget for. Think of a rental as an insurance policy on the tank.
One payment and it's yours — over ten or fifteen years that is usually less than a monthly contract. You get the manufacturer's tank warranty (typically six years) plus our one-year labour warranty, and more makes and models to choose from.
Same amount of stored hot water. The difference is recovery: gas re-heats the tank much faster, so a gas 40 feels bigger than an electric 40 when everyone showers in a row.
Pre-authorized monthly payment from your bank account or credit card, billed by Vista Services on the 1st or the 15th — that's how the rates stay competitive. The rate adjusts by approximately 3.5% each year — flat, not inflation-linked — and the exact figure is printed on your agreement. Existing Vista customers can manage payments in the VISTApp.
